UL begin Sigerson Cup campaign against CIT. Once again University of Limerick are the county’s sole representative in the Sigerson Cup. UL kick of their campaign by welcoming CIT to UL this Tuesday at 2pm. Unlike the Fitzgibbon Cup, the Sigerson is run on a straight knockout basis, so defeat for UL will mean they exit the competition at the first hurdle. Limerick’s ladies footballers claim a draw in league opener against Carlow.  Limerick made the journey to the Centre of Excellent in Fenagh to take on Carlow in Round 1 of the Lidl National Football League. A minute silence was observed at the start of the game in memory of Limerick’s Dolores O’Riordan and Carlow’s Tommy Lyons.
