An Brú AC Athletics Notes

Juveniles Xcountry Results held in Bilboa AC grounds, Cappamore, Co. Limerick last Saturday 6th of October.

Great day in our 1st outing for the Cross Country championships in Bilboa.
Out 1st for An Brú was Sophie O’Carroll in U10, Sophie ran fantastic and finished very strong.Next up were U12 girls of Libby Casey, Natasha Smiechowski, Ruby Collins. The girls ran extremely well in a very competitive race well done girls.

Our Boys U12 were next Charlie Casey, Connor O’Brien, Flynn Horgan and Alex Gavin. Another very competitive race, Charlie Casey finished 5th overall and as a team the boys took the bronze. Lee Gavin was next under 16, Lee 1st time doing cross country, and was also in a race with experienced runners.

 Well done to Niall O’Riordan who came 2nd in the men’s senior race today hosted by Bilboa AC, great running Niall!

 Well done to Nándor Ábel who on his birthday 7th of October smashed the 30k distance in Hungary at the 33rd International Spar Marathon festival with the time of 3hrs and 9secs.😃 Great running Nándor!

  Well done to Niall Shanahan who won the 10k in the St. Michael’s Rowing Club Urban Run on Sunday 7th of in a great time of 31.12, Brian Lawlor who was 6th in a time of 35.08 and Maurice Hope with a time of 39.02, great running!Running in the 5k were Yvonne Casey 6th woman home in 21.44 and Pat Naughton in 39.38, great running!

 Well done to Derval Kenny who took part in the 3/4 Irish Marathon in Longwood, Co Meath today. Dervql finished in 3.33. Derval had a little help from my niece Maeve to finish

Well done to Sean Robinson who came 2nd in the one mile dash in The Give a Little Back in Herbertstown, Co. Limerick on Sunday, well done to all members who took part cycling and running in this great fundraising for Breast Cancer event.
