Irelands Women’s Rugby squad announced for Six Nations with seven Munster players included

Ireland begin their campaign with a warm up game with Wales this Saturday. Ireland Women’s head coach Adam Griggs has named a 25-strong squad for Sunday’s Six Nations warm-up match against Wales at the CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach (kick-off 1pm). There are seven uncapped players named in the squad to travel to Caerphilly, including Galwegians duo Laura Feely and Edel McMahon, and Railway Union second row Aoife McDermott, in the forward ranks. The games will be played next week, 22nd January onwards The draws for the next qualifying round of the Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cups have been made following yesterday’s final first round fixtures between St. Munchins College and Bandon Grammar School. This round will decide who will go on to meet the sides who were victorious in the opening round of fixtures, in the quarter finals. Mixed bag for St. Munchins as Juniors win but Senior side lose out to Bandon

The game was played in some blustery condition in Bandon RFC Bandon Grammar school secure their spot in this year’s quarter final’s of the Munster Senior Cup with a 7-5 win over St. Munchins College in Bandon RFC yesterday. In a tight encounter throughout, Bandon began mounting pressure early doors but couldn’t capitalise missing an early shot at goal. Munchins then began to gather their own momentum but inside centre Jazz Pendejit couldn’t convert it into points after a missed penalty.
