Ciara Neville (Emerald) starred in Athlone with a fine performance at the Irish Life Health Junior and U23 Championships on Sunday, as she claimed first place in the junior women’s 60m in 7.34.
Neville’s time was a new Championship Best Performance and just four one hundredths shy of the World Indoor qualifying time of 7.30 seconds – that time is the Irish record which she holds with Amy Foster (City of Lisburn).
Two good results so far from national juniors in AIT today @ciara_nev100 1st in 60m final with 7.34 🔥 and @paulcostelloe9 2nd in men’s 60m final congrats to both. Callout to young Lauren O’Leary who also made women’s final. pic.twitter.com/DzDVKZu4CT
