Defining weekend for Limerick sides in Ulster Bank League action

The Ulster Bank League season enters it’s final five regular season fixtures this weekend with seven Limerick sides battling for position in their respective divisions, all Saturday fixtures kick off at 2.30.

Tonight, Shannon and UL Bohemian go head to head in a Limerick derby clash at Thomond Park from 7.30.

There’s plenty at stake for both sides, with Shannon hoping to reclaim top spot and UL Bohs looking to continue their path to division 1b safety.

The red robins have been in top form as of late, claiming wins in their last three league encounters while Shannon haven’t claimed a win since the beginning of January.

In Division 1A tomorrow both Garryowen and Young Munster will be looking to continue their drive for a semi-final place.

Garryowen had a big win over Trinity last weekend to move up to 4th spot while Young Munster are just four points behind their Limerick rivals in 6th.

Today, the cookies welcome champions Cork Constitution to Tom Clifford Park for what should prove to be an entertaining Munster Derby, while Garryowen are on their travels to the capital to face UCD.

Top of the table Old Crescent have had a flawless season to date, claiming 13 wins from 13 in 2b while securing 8 try bonus points.

They should continue that run tomorrow as they entertain basement side City of Derry in Rosbrien.

In 2C both Limerick sides are still challenging for the top prize as Thomond sit in 2nd spot one point back from leaders Malahide while Bruff are just four points of their Limerick counterparts.

The soda cakes face into a top of the table clash with the Dubliners at Liam Fitzgerald Park on Saturday.

Seapoint provide the opposition for Eoin Cahill’s side today as they make the trip to Kilbogget Park.
