Limerick contest second Munster Derby in three days as Champions Cork come to town

The Markets Field crowd will be hoping that tonight’s Munster derby clash against Cork City on Monday evening lives up to Friday night’s display at the RSC where Limerick ran out 6-3 winners over Waterford.

The home side will welcome back captain Shane Duggan from suspension however Eoin Wearen misses out following the accumulation of five yellow cards.

Danny Morrissey (hamstring) who came off injured following his brace in Friday’s win is set to miss out, as is Killian Brouder (ankle).

Another player who was among the goals that night, Barry Maguire trained this week despite picking up a knock in the win over Waterford and will be named in the match day squad.

Limerick will be looking to record just their second home league win of the season against a side that they have performed well against so far in the 2018 campaign.

Tommy Barrett’s men most recently suffered a 2-1 defeat at Turners Cross having thrown away a 1-0 lead, while Limerick were arguably the better team in the one all draw between the sides in Garryowen back in March.

Cork come into the game following a 4-0 home win over basement side Bray but have struggled away from home as of late, picking up just a point in their last two road games.

Kick off at the Markets Field is at 7.45pm.
