Limerick FC confirm signing of exciting young striker Conor Ellis from Cork.

Limerick have announced the signing of 20-year-old striker Connor Ellis from Cork City as the Tommy Barrett era begins at the Markets Field. Ellis had been training with Limerick in recent weeks, but reports had emerged recently that the young talent may slip through the net.

Ellis played for Cork City’s u19 squad during the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons. Appearing for the first team in their mid-season friendly game against Liverpool’s Development Squad while he made his professional debut shortly after that.

The youngster will make the move from a Cork side where he will not have been first choice in attack and will hope to gain valuable first team experience at Limerick.

Chiedozie Ogbene made the move to Limerick from the Rebels for the same reason last season and went on to be one of the Super Blue’s top performers in the last campaign.

Limerick will reveal Ellis today at the same time as new manager Tommy Barrett.
