Limerick FC update – trio to depart Neil McDonald’s squad

Limerick FC squad update – trio to depart Neil McDonald’s squad.

Limerick FC have confirmed that forward players John O’Flynn and Stephen Kenny will leave the club, with the decision having been made not to offer the pair new contracts.

O’Flynn and Kenny contributed to Limerick’s promotion back to the Premier Division last season as the Shannonsiders’ claimed the First Division title in 2016, the duo netted 16 league goals between them. This season Kenny has had a good run of games under Neil McDonald but O’Flynn, who has been struggling for fitness, has not featured often.

Limerick FC have wished John and Stephen well in their futures, on and off the field, and put on record their thanks to them for their professionalism and commitment over the past two seasons.

Crowe has been a stable figure at the back for McDonald this season, while he turned in a couple of good performances in a central defensive midfield role towards the end of the season, one of which earned him the man of the match award against Drogheda United.

While, Joe Crowe will return to his parent club Norwich City. Limerick FC have thanked Norwich for allowing Joe to spend time at the club on-loan since the summer, and Joe for his contribution in that period.
