Listen – Sporting Limerick catches up with Nottingham Rugby’s Gearoid Lyons

Gearoid Lyons joined up with English Championship side Nottingham in the run up to the 2016/17 season, making the move from Munster after being involved in the academy setup for three years.

The former Young Munster man captained Crescent College Comprehensive to Munster Senior Cup glory in 2013, and has represented Ireland at U18 level. He was also captain of the Ireland sevens squad in 2015.

Mungret native, Lyons missed out on most of his first season at The Bay through injury but has had a good run in the starting XV so far in this campaign.

The natural fly-half has played most of his rugby at inside centre for Ian Costello’s side, who currently lie in fourth spot.

Listen below as Gearoid speaks about his time so far with the Championship club, the bragging rights he has over teammate and fellow Comp graduate Sean Scanlon, his future aspirations and more.
