LISTEN: “We know its going to be very difficult”-Richie English

After playing his part in Limerick’s All Ireland triumph, Richie English was once again in imperious form yesterday, this time for his club Doon as they booked their place in the final four of the Limerick SHC.

Doon entered their game with Kilmallock as underdogs but took the game to the 2014 County champions and were full value for their seven point win. After the game we caught up with Doon’s captain, English to get his views on the game.

“We’re hoping that in the next few weeks we can keep going. The championship is so competitive. This is the end I suppose of the group stages of the championship and everyone is still left in the championship. We have to go out there again and we’re going to need a bigger performance the next day.”

Doon were without the services of All Ireland winning and All Star nominated midfielder Darragh O’Donovan for the game but could count on numerous others to step up to the plate in securing the victory. English understands just how difficult it will be to go all the way in the championship but is happy with how the squad is looking heading into the last four.

“You want other fellas to drive it as well… We’re hoping that everyone can pull together for the next few weeks. We know its going to be very difficult. The Limerick championship is probably the hardest one in Munster to win. We’re just looking at every game and trying to get it right.”
