Wayne Pivac has recently said they will find it difficult to hold on to the lock.
The Welsh sides head coach has added fuel to the fire concerning Tadhg Beirnes next destination admitting that it will be very hard to keep the lock with the Pro 14 Champions.
The former Leinster player is keen to represent his country and would boost his chances of being picked by Joe Scmidt tenfold if he was to join an Irish province, and with Munster’s problem in the second row position, it seems they would be the perfect fit.
In the report in the Irish independent, David Kelly claims that Munster made contact with Beirne as far back as early spring, before the Pro 14 play-offs had even taken place, but nothing materialised as The Scarlets didn’t leave him break his contract.
Speaking after his side’s win over Edinburgh on Saturday evening, head coach Pivac conceded that the Kildare man could be on his way out.
“We would love to keep Tadhg, but he has got burning ambitions to play for Ireland like all our Welsh boys have to play for Wales and that is the way it should be.
“Part of it will be out of our control, but certainly we will be looking at other players as well. Tadhg came in from outside so if he were to go I am sure we will find someone to replace him.”
Beirne has been a real surprise package for the Scarlets since joining 2 years ago after being released by Leinster and had another man of the match display against Edinburgh at the weekend with no less than four turnovers to his name.
The Kildare native would add a huge amount to Munster’s pack if he was to join, and at only 25 still has a huge amount to offer.
