Six Limerick sides are still fighting for either a playoff place or a title with five games remaining in the regular season.
Garryowen have six games left following the postponement of their game with Dublin University two weeks ago, and sit four points behind Clontarf who occupy the last playoff place.
The Light Blues claimed an impressive win over leaders Lansdowne in Dooradoyle at the weekend, it was the Dublin side’s first league loss of the season.
James McInirney went over for Garryowen’s first try with captain Neil Cronin notched the rest from the boot the Limerick side took a 16-8 lead into the break.
Lansdowne looked to be forging a comeback in the second half however a Liam Coombs try settled things down for the light blues as they claimed the 24-16 win.
While Young Munster claimed a bonus point win over St Mary’s College at Templeville Road it finished 33-12 at Templeville Road.
Just 2 points separated the sides at the half as Jack Lyons and Dan Walsh tries had the cookies in the lead, Alan Tynan converted both.
Young Munsters try scoring continued in the second half with Alan Kennedy going over for his second try in as as many weeks, followed by an Evan O’Gormon brace and a try by Joe O’Connor.

Both Garryowen and Young Munster well positioned for a playoff push coming into the business end of the season.
In 1B Shannon had to settle for a 15 all draw against Banbridge Ulster.
Kieran Dunne and Darren Gavin claimed tries for the parish side, who looked as though they were on for the win before a late Banbridge try.
Shannon now drop to second following Ballynahinche’s win over the weekend.

While UL Bohemians continued their resurgence with a bonus point win over Old Belvodere 38-26 it ended in UL.
Jamie McNamara, Shane Scannell James Ryan and Darragh Frawley with the tries, the rest from the boot of Limerick footballer Robbie Bourke.
The red robins are now edging their way towards division 1B.
Old Crescent saw off Skerries 26-20 in division 2B, in what was yet another bonus point win secured by the table toppers. The Rosbrien side now have a staggering 13 wins from 13 and 8 try bonus points.

Head coach Brendan Guilfoyle with a brace today for his side, backs coach Brian Tuohy also went over while Larry Hanley added the bonus point try.
While in 2C Thomond claimed a losing bonus point away to Malahide 15-8 it ended in Dublin as the Limerick side drop down from top spot.
A Davy Horan try rescued a 10 all draw for Bruff with Bangor at Killballyowen, with the Limerick side still in the mix for the playoff places.
