Shannon aim to close the gap on top spot in 1B tie with Dolphin

Tom Hayes’ side contest their re-fixed league game with bottom spot Dolphin on Saturday.

Shannon can close the gap on top spot Ballynahinch to a point with two games to go if they can manage to claim a bonus point win over Dolphin at Musgrave Park.

The parish side led the table for large parts of the season but a win-less run of three games from the end of January saw them relinquish their hold on pole position.

They bounced back with a gritty win over Old Wesley last week, winning a tight game by three points. The victory sets up an interesting end to the season, with Banbridge lying five points ahead of them in 2nd and Ballynahinch six clear at the top.

Kick off at Irish Independent Park this Saturday is at 1.30pm.
