The late Tim O’Brien established the Sporting Limerick brand in the mid 1990’s with his vision to unite Limerick Sport under one banner, so as to provide Limerick with a world-class brand that would unite the City and County and show the world that Limerick was a place of success, a place of sports being a uniting focal point for all Limerick people and by extension a great place to live and work.
When the brand relaunched itself having been taken on by Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP) eighteen months ago, it was to utilise all the tools available through social media, podcasting, live streaming and modern media methods in a bid to establish itself as a reliable source of sports news for Limerick people.
In that time we have embarked on an exciting journey, constantly looking to improve on our coverage. Through our social media platforms we have live-streamed events from powerlifting to soccer, GAA and rugby. Over the Summer months we have filmed and produced a series of short films highlighting many minority sports around the county ranging form Limerick Cricket Club, UL Vikings American Football Club, Foynes Yacht Club, Sporting Limerick rounders team and much more.
We have a long running relationship with Limerick GAA and have worked closely with them to ensure that our coverage of Limerick teams throughout this year’s championship has been taken to a new level with video content from the weekly press conferences as well as all the post match reaction delivered to your laptop or phone as it happens.
