The draw for the second round of the FAI Junior Cup has taken place

The draw for the second round of the FAI Junior Cup has taken place this afternoon with some interesting ties set to take place in Limerick. The ties will take place on the weekend ending on the 16th of September.

The standout tie in Limerick is the meeting of Regional United and Janesboro at Dooradoyle. Both sides have advanced to the latter stages in recent years and Limerick will lose one of its main challengers in the early stages. Janesboro were favourites after the first round last season but suffered defeat at the hands of eventual winners North End to bow out.

Last season’s runners up Pike Rovers make the short trip to face Caledonians who are currently in division 2A in Limerick. With new recruits Conor Kavanagh, Daragh Rainsford, Johnathan Grant and Evan Patterson bolstering last year’s youthful squad, the Crosagalla outfit will be looking to go one better in 2019.
