WATCH – Billy Lee “I’d like to put the players first even to our detriment”

Limerick football manager Billy Lee says that the GAA is all about the players and that their workload needs to be managed more carefully.

“I’m challenging all the officials in the country to get their house in order fairly fast with fixtures because it’s unfair. The product we have with the players, that’s what the GAA have, without the great players we don’t have teams and we don’t have the skills that these people show and they have to be put first.”

Lee has said that April being slated for club action has been a challenge, trying to balance inter-county training with the County SHC.

Clare on the other hand will have had a clear run into the May 19th with the county opting to play no club championship games in the lead in.
