It was a case of one step forward and two steps back for Munster as an error strewn and poor defensive performance saw Cardiff ease to a 37-13 bonus point win.
Munster are now on 2 wins from 4 having suffered two heavy away losses to Glasgow and now, Cardiff. What is more alarming is the substandard level of the performances.
Johann van Graan and his side will have plenty of work to do ahead of Ulster next weekend if they are to buck the trend.
