WATCH – Scrum coach Greg Feek on Irish captaincy ahead of opening test in Australia

Ireland scrum coach Greg Feek says that Ireland have multiple options as to who should replace the injured Rory Best as captain of the national side in Australia.

“That’s a decision that will be made in the next 24 hours, it could even be made in the next hour or so. There’s CJ (Stander), Pete (O’Mahony), Johnny (Sexton), Conor (Murray), Earlsie (Keith Earls), it’s a good experienced group.

The Irish squad have been training ahead of Saturday’s opening test against the Wallabies in Brisbane, but Best misses the three test series due to a hamstring problem.

Limerick man Sean Cronin is tipped to deputise at Hooker, with Niall Scannell and Rob Herring also pushing for the number two shirt.
