2020 Fitzgibbon & Sigerson Cup draws made

The Limerick colleges discovered their faith for next year as the draws for the 2020 Fitzgibbon Cup and Sigerson Cup were made in DCU today.

In the Fitzgibbon Cup, Limerick have three representatives in UL, Mary I and LIT.

A Limerick college won the competition for four years in a row between 2015 and 2018 with UL and Mary I winning twice each.

Mary I and LIT have been drawn together in Group B, with two to advance from their four team group.

2020 Fitzgibbon Cup Draw

Group A: UL, Maynooth, Trinity, DCU.

Group B: Mary I, LIT, TUD, WIT.

Group C: NUIG, CIT, UCC.

Group D: UCD, IT Carlow, GMIT.


Sigerson Cup

n the Sigerson Cup, sixteen teams enter into the straight knockout competition.

UL are Limerick’s only representative with no Limerick winner in the competition ever.

UL play IT Sligo in the first round in Sligo on January 12th.

Should they win then they will progress to the quarter-final a week later.
