Munster A name side for second round of B&I Cup

Peter Malone has made 7 changes to the side that beat Ospreys select in round 1

James Cronin will make his return to action tomorrow night at loosehead after a knee injury ruled him out for the last few weeks whilst Mike Sherry has been promoted to the starting line up after coming off the bench last week.

Darren O’Shea returns to the second row after a long lay off due to a shoulder injury. Cork Con’s Evan Mintern is also promoted from the bench in the back row after a good showing last weekend.

Garryowen’s Bill Johnston and Liam Coombes start at out half and wing respectively with former Leinster sub academy winger, Jack Power coming into the side to make his first appearance for the Province.

There are also a number of positional changes with Brin Scott moving to tighthead, David Johnston moving into the centre and Stephen Fitzgerald moving back to full back.

Academy out half Conor Fitzgerald, UCC’s John Hodnett and Young Munster’s Conor Hayes have been named on the bench and will make their competition debut’s if they are used.

Munster A: Stephen Fitzgerald, Jack Power, David Johnston – capt., Sam Arnold, Liam Coombes; Bill Johnston, James Hart; James Cronin, Mike Sherry, Brian Scott; Darren O’Shea, Sean McCarthy; Sean O’Connor, Gavin Coombes, Evan Mintern.

Replacements: John Hodnett, Ciaran Parker, Fineen Wycherley, Ronan Coffey, John Poland, Conor Fitzgerald, Conor Hayes.
