Munster’s Niall Scannell to Undergo surgery on thumb injury

There are no new major injury concerns following both Munster and Munster A’ games over the weekend

Both Munster sides came away with victories in their respective home games over the weekend against Nottingham RFC at Musgrave Park and Racing Metro at Thomond Park, the later being the highest recored attendance after two round in the Champions cup with 22,054 turning up to support Erasmus’ men.

James Cronin and Jean Kleyn all reported clean bill’s of health over the weekend after returning from injuries sustained earlier in the season whilst Daren O’Shea also returned with no ill effects after a shoulder injury sustained last season.

Whilst there are a number of bumps and bruises following the tough Champions Cup and B&I Cup fixtures, there is nothing major to report and players training loads will be managed this week going into Friday’s trip to the Sportsgrounds for the Connacht tie.

Niall Scannell has had a setback in his thumb injury and will undergo surgery on it today. Tyler Bleyendaal will be continually managed this week for his neck injury suffered against Castres last Sunday.

Continuing to rehab: Gerbrandt Grobler (ankle), Conor Oliver (shoulder), Dan Goggin (knee), Ronan O’Mahony (fibula), Dave O’Callaghan (knee) and Jaco Taute (knee).
