A BBC archive video has been shared on Facebook recently explaining the formation of two Limerick Soccer team in 1983.
The short package details the the emergence of two Limerick soccer teams due to a division involving controlling rights of the original club, Limerick united.
Pat Grace, who owned a KFC in the city at the time, pumped a lot of money into Limerick Utd but didn’t get any control over the decisions being made, so the takeaway owner decided to set up a new club.
