The Springbok head coach was speaking ahead of Ireland’s first Autumn international on Saturday.
Allister Coetzee has admitted that the loss of incoming Munster head coach, Johann Van Graan, is a big one to the South African National set up.
Munster today confirmed that Rassie Eramus’ successor will begin his two year contract with the province on November 20th, a week before their next Pro 14 fixture against Zebre, but before that he will remain as assistant coach for South Africa in their Autumn Internationals against Ireland on Saturday and and against France the following week.
Speaking journalists at his side’s press briefing on Monday Coetzee admitted that Van Graan’s departure, after five years involved with the Springboks is a disappointing one.
“He has been massive and besides his tactical info and coaching ability he is a good person and a good human being,” the head coach said.
“He has been doing a good job for the Springboks over the last few years and it will be a big loss to the Springboks but a massive gain for Munster. He has been working well in our coaching structures.
This will be the 37 year old’s first ever Director of Rugby role and he will take charge of Munster the week prior to their Guinness Pro14 encounter with Zebre.
