Former Munster scrum half and Heineken Cup winner Mike Prendergast is tipping Johann van Graan’s side to dig deep into their European reserves and edge Racing 92 in a tight affair.
Now plying his trade at Oyonnax, Prendergast says that Racing 92 are coming into this game in better shape that in any of their previous encounters.
“It will be tight, It’s actually a harder one than any of the last three to call from a point of view of consistency. Racing probably haven’t gone into any of the last three games as confident and consistent..
“The two teams know each other very well but I still think Munster have that edge and that winning feeling. I know they had a couple of losses over Christmas but a had a good win the other day over Connacht.
Munster have played their best rugby in Europe this year and are unbeaten in the pool to this point. Prendergast says Munster always show up for European battles and expecting Sunday to be no different.
“The big time is back on now, it’s Champions Cup and I just think they will pull through but it will be a tight game.”
