Ireland captain Ciara Griffin on Six Nations launch “it’s all a bit mad”.

Ireland skipper Ciara Griffin spoke to Irish Rugby TV at yesterday’ busy Six Nations launch in London. The tournament is now just over a week away and the anticipation is building ahead of what is set to be one of the most fiercely-contested Championships ever.

Last England who beat runners-up Ireland to the Grand Slam, winning their first Six Nations title since 2012. There’s plenty of excitement surrounding a new-look side that is now coached by Adam Griggs and captained by Ciara Griffin, who’ll be determined to make amends for a poor World Cup campaign.

Attending the tournament launch for the first time, 24-year-old, Griffin, said: “There’s nine new girls who have come into the squad and they’re doing really well, putting their hands up for jerseys which is what we need. There’s great excitement in the squad and we’re looking forward to the start of the Six Nations.”
