Limerick begin their quest back to Division 1A once more this Sunday as they host Laois in the Gaelic Grounds.
18 of John Kiely’s panel are competing in this year’s Fitzgibbon cup with many of them involved this week, while there are also a number of injuries to the side coming into the game.
Kiely has confirmed that Kyle Hayes, Barry Nash, Graeme Mulcahy and William O’Meara are all set to miss out on the clash with Laois, while captain Declan Hannon will also miss the tie.
“They’re not ready yet but their getting there. They’re all coming back to within the last few weeks of their recovery. They should all be on the pitch training in two weeks.”
The Limerick manager has also stated that he and his side are coming into the campaign with a game to game mentality, as they look to build on a positive Munster Senior Hurling League showing but knows it will be a tough journey.
“Our approach is to take it one game at a time. Our first goal is to try and get a couple of wins under our belt. It’s very competitive.”
Kiely and his selectors will name his side for Sunday’s clash at the Gaelic Grounds tonight.
