Four Limerick clubs involved in crucial All Ireland League clashes.

Following last weekend’s postponements just four Limerick sides take to the pitch in the All Ireland League this weekend, with Garryowen, Old Crescent, Bruff and Thomond in action in re-fixed league ties.

The light blues are still looking to cement their place in the 1A semi-final with four games remaining while Old Crescent are sitting pretty in the 2B table. Thomond are three points behind 2C leaders Malahide with a game in hand with Bruff lying in 6^th but still in the hunt for a play-off place. Three of the four games take place in Limerick.

4^th spot Garryowen welcome 2^nd place Terenure to Dooradoyle for a crucial clash this Sunday at 2.30.

Conan Doyle’s side are in red-hot form coming into the game and have made their Dooradoyle venue a fortress this season, winning every home league game this season.

The light blues can leapfrog Terenure with a win on Sunday and will now have their eye on a home semi-final.

Munster Senior Cup champions, Garryowen will hope that captain Neil Cronin continues his fine form, the scrum-half has been one of the stand out performers across the league this season and led the Ireland club team to a win over Scoltland recently.

Crescent are now within touching distance of automatic promotion to 2A they have an eight-point advantage over second place Rainey. On Sunday they travel to the capital to take on Wanderers at Merrion Road for a 2.30 kick off.

Brendan Guilfoyle’s side have had an outlandish campaign to date, winning all 14 of their league games, picking up 9 try bonus points in the process. They come into the game off the back of a historic 104-0 win over City of Derry.

This Crescent side is a well oiled attacking machine and should dispatch this mid-table Wanderers side.

In 2C Thomond will be looking to reclaim their perch at the top of the table. The soda cakes have done well to bounce back to form this season following back to back relegations.

Darragh O’Neill has been outstanding on the try scoring front while out-half Evan Cusack has also come to the fore as an influential match-winner as of late.

James Hickey’s side welcome 4^th place Bangor to Liam Fitzgerald Park for a 12.30pm kick off on Saturday.

Thomond could do local rivals Bruff a favour with Eoin Cahill’s men trying their best to get back into the play-off places. They lie four points behind Bangor.

The County Limerick side face into a home clash with basement side Tullamore who will know a win can see them move closer to safety in what’s a highly congested table with just 21 points separating top from bottom. The game gets going at 12pm.

Elsewhere UL Bohemian were due to play this Saturday, however their game against Ballynahinch has now been moved to bank holiday Monday, March 19.

Shannon’s rescheduled clash with Dolphin set for March 19 has been moved to March 31 while Young Munster will clash with Trinity will go ahead on March 19.
