As is the intense nature of the Munstet championship, Limerick are rewarded for their win over Tipperary with a trip to Pairc Ui Chaoimh to face the defending Munster champions Cork this Saturday.
Cork are a side in form, despite their second half collapse against Tipp last time out. They were arguably the form team last year, being shocked by Waterford in the All Ireland semi final after losing a man to a red card in the second period.
However their performance against Clare and the first half against Tipp have demonstrated that Cork have continued making progress under John Meyler. Limerick boss John Kiely is aware of their threat and is looking forward to the test on Saturday.
“They’re a flaking side, fantastic athletes. You can see the speed they have and they are fantastic stickmen as well.”
“They put a lot on the table for teams to take on and that’s the bottom line.”
