WATCH – Injured Paul Brown “No point feeling sorry for myself”

Limerick senior hurler Paul Brown finds himself in one of the most mentally challenging predicaments in sport. The midfielder will miss his opportunity to take the pitch with the treaty at Croke Park for the All Ireland final having suffered a Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury.

Brown injured himself in training in July and quickly realised that his season was over saying he “knew something bad was after happening”.

The Bruff club man could have allowed the injury to get the better of him but says that it wouldn’t be in the best interest of the team if he did.

“I’m out, that’s it. No point feeling sorry for myself. There’s no point being with the boys (panel) if I’m feeling sorry for myself. I’m just trying to focus on being positive as I possibly can around the lads.

Brown is now focusing on trying to help out the panel in other areas away from the field.

“I’ve 10 seasons under my belt and if I can pass on a bit of experience, or if I can spot something that’s happening in a match and go in to Darragh or Cian or Will and tell them this is happening or that’s happening. If I can only contribute 1 percent more towards it, that’s a percent more than we had.”
