Limerick Racing News
Ballyoisin ran out a most impressive of the Grade 2 TheTote.com Fortria Chase at Navan on Sunday. With Doctor Phoenix missing out due to ground conditions, Enda Bolger’s seven-year-old was sent off an 8/13 favourite and his supporters never had a moment’s worry. He was clear from halfway under Barry Geraghty and scored by all of 23-lengths from Ordinary World. Ballyoisin was winning his fourth race in-a-row and will bid to extend the run at Leopardstown over Christmas.
Charles Byrnes and his old ally Davy Russell combined to land the 2m handicap hurdle at the same meeting with Wonder Laish. The six-year-old took advantage of a lenient-looking rating to record a facile seven and a half-length success as his odds of 9/10 favourite suggested he might do. Clearly impressed, the handicapper put the winner up 17lbs to a new rating of 136.
