Draw made for the FAI Junior Cup sixth round

The six remaining Limerick sides learned their fate for the sixth round of the competition this evening as the draw took place in Dublin. Two Limerick sides have home advantage while three sides have to travel.

There is one all Limerick clash and a tasty local derby as Aisling Annacotty host Newport Town AFC. Annacotty thrashed Blarney in the last round in Cork while Newport defeated much fancied Carbury FC on penalties in Derryleigh Park. The clubs grounds are in close proximity to each other and it means we are guaranteed at least one Limerick team in the last 16 of the competition.

Pike & Regional seen in action here will both face tough ties in the round of 32

Pike Rovers were handed yet another trip to Dublin and the daunting prospect of facing Sheriff YC. Bar last season, Sheriff dominated the competition for the three years previous, including defeating Pike in the final at the Aviva Stadium in 2016. Pike defeated St. Kevin’s Boys 2-1 in the previous round and will be hoping for a similar outcome in the capital this time round.

In-form Regional were handed a home draw having defeated Killarney Celtic 1-6 in Kerry last week. They will have to wait to find out their opponents as it could be any oone of Ardmore Rovers, St. Paul’s or MP FC.

Ballynanty were handed another away tie should they overcome the challenge of Muirhavna Mor in Dundalk on Sunday. Their opponents in waiting are Crettyard FC of Carlow.

The only remaining Desmond League side Glin Rovers have been drawn away to Vec FC in with the Dublin side having accounted for Castleisland on a 3-0 scoreline in the last round. See the draw in full below.
