Double All-Ireland U21 winning hurler to join senior football panel

Na Piarsaigh’s Ronan Lynch will join Billy Lee’s county football panel for the upcoming 2019 season.

Lynch who has a pair of U21 All-Ireland hurling medals is not named in the squad for this Sunday’s clash with Cork in the McGrath cup but is expected to feature during the year.

Lynch was a member of John Kiely’s senior hurling squad in 2016 but was omitted from the squad last year as they would go on to win the All-Ireland title.

He will be joined by Tommy Childs and Brian Donovan who have rejoined the panel after being absent from the squad last summer.

The news will come as a boost to Billy Lee who has seen a number of players leave his panel over the past two seasons.

Limerick kick off their year with a clash against Cork in the McGrath cup in Foynes this Sunday.
