WATCH: Alby Mathewson on staying with Munster and always being professional

Munster scrum half Alby Mathewson has become a fans favourite since arriving at the province last August.

The former New Zealand international initially signed a three month deal but that has been extended twice – firstly until the end of March and more recently extended to the end of November.

He is certainly enjoying his time at Munster and is hopeful that he will be staying beyond his current contract.

“I have been lucky enough the extend until November and I’m really enjoying it here.

“It’s an extra six months at the moment and we will see what happens after that.

“Obviously I’d like to stay but like I said every other time I’ve extended it, it’s not up to Munster as such. It’s an IRFU decision.”
