WATCH: Peter O’Mahony on impending exits and Leinster semi-final clash

When the news broke of the departures of Jerry Flannery and Felix Jones last week, the mood around the Munster camp was a sombre one with the pair having contributed so much to the club.

However, ahead of Munster’s Guinness Pro 14 semi-final clash with Leinster this Saturday, captain Peter O’Mahony says the duo are fully focused on ensuring Munster reach the decider.

“I can sit here and say how good these guys have been but they know and we now that there’s a big week of training ahead of us.”

“I know they are, and we are firmly focused on the week ahead.”

Munster will have been disappointed not to have competed in the Champions Cup final last Saturday where Leinster were defeated by Saracens who beat Munster in the semi-final stage.

However, Mahony is pleased to have such an important game to look forward to, acknowledging how many clubs are currently in the off season.

“Plenty of teams don’t have any rugby this time of the year so its great to be back in for the most important week of the year.”
