Cycling Ireland are holding a series of bike festivals around Ireland to help make people more aware of cycling and the facilities they can uses.
BIKE FEST – Limerick will run the first weekend of Bike Week 2019 down in Ballyhoura, Limerick. It kicks off this Saturday.
This cycling festival will encourage people to try biking and get the appropriate guidance using approved trainers.
There will be free bikes/helmets rental on the day. Numbers are limited so prebooking is essential. Contact Trailriders Ballyhoura via 087 2717330 and avail of appropriate slots on either day.
Slots Available: *10am to 11.30am, *12noon to 1.30pm and *2.30pm to 4pm. These slots will involve free coaching on how to use a mountain bike off-road and will involve a training loop to practice.
Times have to be pre-booked to allow proper organisation with skills and bike provision and you can bring your own bike/helmet if you so have one. All under 18 year old have to be accompanied by a guardian or parent.
These sessions are aimed at the beginner. For those who may require advice and guidance along the trails are free to turn up on the day and we can pass on best trail choice ,some wise words from our leaders.
There will be a selection of short and medium loops fro beginners to try. Toilets and showers are provided at the location plus other information such as walks and orienteering for afterwards.
