WATCH: Tom Morrissey unfazed by favourites tag

Not often have Limerick had the prospect of facing Kilkenny in the All-Ireland semi-final as favourites but that will be the case come Saturday.

Limerick as 2018 All-Ireland champions will look to make it two championship wins in a row against Kilkenny on Sunday after waiting 45 years for one.

The favourites tag isn’t one to faze this team says wing-forward Tom Morrissey, with the side used to it at this stage.

“We’re well used to playing with the favourites tag, it doesn’t bother us. We just remain focused on what we need to do and the targets we have to hit come Saturday.”

Despite facing into an All-Ireland semi-final, it hasn’t all been smooth sailing for Limerick who have had two defeats in their five championship games thus far this year.

However, Morrissey looks at the positives and says it’s a good thing that there is still room for improvement in the Munster champions.

“There has been an inconsistency there that we don’t want and I suppose there’s no room for anymore because we are in knockout championship.”

“It’s good going forward that there is room for improvement and something we can work on.”
