WATCH: Gillane masterclass sees Patrickswell draw with Kilmallock

Patrickswell remain unbeaten in the Limerick SHC after a thrilling 0-18 to 0-18 draw with Kilmallock at the Gaelic Grounds this evening.

Ciarán Carey’s side had a 100% record from there three games heading into tonight’s game but needed 0-13 from Aaron Gillane to salvage a draw.

The Limerick inter county star was in imperious form throughout and his free taking masterclass was a sight to behold.

Patrickswell’s cause wasn’t helped when they were reduced to 14 in the 44th minute after Cian Lynch was given his marching orders for a strike on Gavin O’Mahony.

Kilmallock raced into an early 0-7 to 0-0 advantage after an impressive opening quarter, but seven Gillane points and one from Andrew Carroll saw Patrickswell trail by 0-11 to 0-8 at the break.

Michael Houlihan and Paudie O’Brien hit 0-3 each for Kilmallock in a first half that they dominated.

Paudie O’Brien scored 0-5 for Kilmallock, including this fine second half free.

The game was tighter in the second half. A fine Gillane effort from play on the restart cut the lead to two, but Kilmallock fought to lead by four heading into the final stages (0-17 to 0-13) after the red card.

Gillane then stepped up to pop over four on the trot to level the game with two minutes left on the clock.

Houlihan did briefly restore Kilmallock’s advantage only to be denied by Gillane again after Dan Joy fouled Carroll.

Elsewhere, Doon made it two wins on the trot after a comprehensive 4-17 to 1-11 victory over South Liberties in Caherconlish.

Liberties made a fine start to the game with a Matt Gaule goal, but Doon hit back with two goals from sub Cathal McNamara and one each for Darragh Stapleton and Patrick Cummins.

Doon led 2-10 to 1-5 at the break and continued to dominate in the second half to come away with a comfortable win.

In Group 2 of the SHC, Ballybrown beat Garryspillane 2-22 to 1-16 in Bruff. Two Shane Kenny goals in the space of 30 seconds helping Evan Loftus’ men to an impressive win.

Tomorrow, Adare play Na Piarsaigh in Group 1 at 7pm, while Ahane play Knockainey at 3pm in Caherconlish and Murroe-Boher face Monaleen in Cappamore at 7pm in Group 2.
