Lucy O’Donnell, the Cappamore teenager has won her first international Junior Cyclocross race at round 5 of the HSBC National Trophy in the UK. Lucy also made history as this was the first UCI cyclocross win outside of Ireland by an Irish cyclist.
The 17 year old is currently on great form having won three race over the past three weekends, winning a rounds of the Specialised SuperCross Cup, also a round of the leinster league the previous week.
Lucy has represented Ireland at the U23 Cyclocross worlds championship last January along with the road European and Worlds Championship during the summer.
This talented and hard working athlete has been making great progress over the last few years, but with this major international win been added to her palmares, Lucy should take great confidence and we can expect to hear more great news in the future.
