Old Crescent are Sporting Limerick Charity Cup champions for 2019/20 following a 17-10 win over Young Munster in Rosbrien tonight.
Crescent clawed back a 10-0 deficit to earn both the Charity Cup and the Kelly Cup on their home ground.
The Kelly Cup is traditionally played for by both teams around the festive and New Year period.
Munsters held a 3-0 half time lead thanks to a Darragh O’Gorman penalty and looked to be heading for victory when Alan Kennedy crossed for their try early in the second half.
O’Gorman’s conversion put Gearoid Prendergast’s men in firm control, but Crescent hit back to earn a stunning win.
Maccon Casserly got Crescent on the board with a penalty 20 minutes into the second half, before Val McDermott bagged their first try. Casserly added the extras to level up the game.
There was then a dramatic finish when Cathal O’Reilly crossed in the 80th minute. Casserly put over the conversion to see out the seven-point win.
