WATCH: Garryowen and Munsters continue to fly Limerick flag in AIL

The All Ireland League got back down to business at the weekend with three Limerick sides earning victories from their respective fixtures.

Garryowen remain in second place behind table toppers Cork Con in Division 1A following an 8-5 victory over Terenure at Dooradoyle.

Jamie Heuston’s dramatic late drop goal earned the Light Blues their ninth victory of the season.

Terenure led 5-0 at the break, but Garrowen drew level thanks to Alex Wootton’s try before Heuston’s fired them to victory. Conan Doyle’s men make the trip to Clontarf this weekend in their next game.

Young Munster’s push for the playoffs continued after a 21-9 win over Dublin University at College Park.

All the points came in the first half with Alan Kennedy, Sean Rigney and Luke Fitzgerald scoring for Gearoid Prendergast’s side. Evan Cusack nailed all three conversions to seal victory.

Munsters are just four points off the top four ahead of Lansdowne’s visit to Tom Clifford Park this Saturday.

Shannon’s hopes of an immediate return to the top flight got another boost after a 17-10 win over Old Wesley in Donnybrook.

A Nathan Randles try that Jake Flannery converted saw Shannon level at the break before an early second half penalty saw Wesley go in front.

Ben Daly levelled the game 13 minutes from time before a grandstand finish saw Shannon to victory.

Some huge pressure from Shannon on the Wesley line eventually paid off with the referee awarding a penalty try. Shannon play Naas at Thomond Park this weekend.

In Division 2A, both Old Crescent and UL Bohs were beaten by Ballymena and MU Barnhall respectively. Crescent welcome Rainey Old Boys to Rosbrien this weekend, while Bohs host Buccaneers.

Bruff remain in eighth place following an 8-3 defeat to Sunday’s Well. Omagh are the visitors to Kilballyowen Park on Saturday.
