The Limerick Camogie management have announced that they will be climbing four mountains across Ireland in order to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society, The Children’s Ark in Limerick Hospital and Limerick Camogie.
Members of management plan to scale four of Ireland’s peaks in four different provinces over a four day span. The dates for the climbs will be announced when it has been confirmed it is safe to do so.
On their Go Fund Me page it states,
“Management of the Limerick Senior Camogie Team Will Travel Across the Four Provinces Of Ireland To Climb The Highest Peak In Each Province Over Four Days To Fundraise Much Needed Funds For The Irish Cancer Society, The Children’s Ark Limerick Hospital and Limerick Camogie.”
Speaking to the Limerick Camogie manager Paul Sexton, he said it’s important to fundraise at this difficult time.
“We are fundraising for the Children’s Ark in the Limerick Hospital and the Irish Cancer Society. Like everyone else, people are fundraising for, nearly forgotten illnesses across the country. We will be scaling the four highest peaks over four days so it’s a big undertaking.”
“Hopefully we will have good numbers and anyone who wants to come on it is welcome to come. Initially it was the management but friends, family or anyone in the Limerick Camogie community can come along for one or two of the legs if they want.”
