Former Pike Rovers stalwart Wayne Colbert has been announced as the new manager of Prospect Priory FC. Colbert will be assisted by Dom Fitzgerald and Cyril Maher at Priory Park.

A statement on the club’s social media pages said;

“We are delighted to announce that we have agreed the signing of Wayne Colbert as our new A-team manager with Dom Fitzgerald and Cyril Maher as his assistant.

Wayne who is a former Irish Junior International has had a hugely successful playing career in the League of Ireland with Limerick FC, Athlone Town and Shamrock Rover before moving to our local Junior league winning numerous League Titles, Munster Junior Cups and FAI Cups with Fairview, Janesboro and Pike Rvs.”

Colbert spent the majority of the last decade at Pike Rovers and won 2 Munster Junior Cups with the club and captained the Hoops to the 2016 FAI Junior Cup Final. The versatile player suffered cruciate ligament damage when playing at centre-back in the 2018 final. He also won a Munster Junior Cup with Janesboro.
