WATCH: Billy Lee on the GAA Roadmap, return to play and hopes for the season

Last week’s GAA roadmap may have come as a shock to many with plenty expecting no champoinship to take place this year.

One of those who was pleasantly surprised by the announcement was Limerick Football manager Billy Lee who expressed his delight at the announcement and gave huge credit to the population as a whole for their efforts thus far.

“Not too many weeks ago, I didn’t think that this was possible, but I suppose it’s a measure of this country.

“We did what was asked of us and it wasn’t easy for us but we did the best that we could as a nation.

“It’s great and for us having a roadmap for games is what we look forward and please God things will continue in the right direction for the country.”

Limerick’s form in the League this year was notable as they looked set to earn promotion to Division 3 as they topped their group with four wins from five.

And Lee is hopeful that his side can continue in the same vein as they started the year whenever the hiatus is ended.

“We’ll focus on performance when we get back. Focus on the basics and create the platform to perfrom. Look you never win anything without that bit of luck and that comes from working hard and having the right attitude.

“And when Wexford show up to us, whenever that may be, we just hope we will be in the best position to perform”
