There was a double header in Section A of the championship on Saturday evening.
In the early game in Group 2, Kilmallock had too much for a spirited Ahane side as they won out comfortably 2-22 to 3-13 in the LIT Gaelic Grounds to ensure their place in the semi-finals while condemning Ahane to the relegation play-off.
Patrickswell booked their place in the last four as they snatched a 2-15 to 0-21 draw late on against Doon later that evening. That stalemate was enough to see Doon through to the quarter-finals alongside Na Piarsaigh.
It also means that Adare will meet Ahane in the relegation play-off.
On Friday evening, Ballybrown secured their place in the last six and the promotion decider from Section B as they demolished Garryspillane 5-25 to 1-11.
Murroe Boher’s 0-21 to 1-15 win over Monaleen meant neither side would advance to the last four with South Liberties taking the knockout berth and promotion final place.
