Limerick’s Niamh McCarthy named on Ladies Football Team of the League

Limerick Ladies Football captain Niamh McCarthy has been selected on the Lidl Ladies Football Team of the League for Division 4.

McCarthy is Limerick’s sole representative on the squad and is named at corner back.

The Drom Broadford star was part of the Limerick team that fell to Leitrim in the League semi-final. The Connacht Ladies have four players chosen on the team.

Donal Ryan’s side began their Division 4 campaign with a loss to Offaly before they regrouped with a five point win over Carlow in the LIT Gaelic Grounds to book their place in the semi-finals.

Limerick kick off their championship campaign this Sunday as they face Wicklow in Kilkenny at 2pm with the game live on the LGFA portal.
