The UL Vikings travel north to face the Carrickfergus Knights in the semi-final of the Shamrock Bowl this Sunday. UL overcame the Cork Admirals last week in the wild card round while the Antrim side qualified directly into the semis after topping the SBC North with a 5-3 record.
Both sides have claimed three Shamrock Bowl titles while the Knights have appeared in nine SB finals with the Vikings reaching the decider on eight occasions.
The last time UL were in the the final was in 2012 where they suffered an agonising two-point defeat at the hands of the Belfast Trojans.
Sporting Limerick visited the Vikings final training session in UL before the big game, and spoke to Offensive Coordinator Eoin O’Sullivan.
