Ryan is part of Irish Ladies squad to compete in the home internationals beginning today.
An Irish team which consists of Maria Dunne (Skerries), Annabel Wilson (Lurgan), Paula Grant (Lisburn) and Castletroy’s Chloe Ryan will begin play today, August 9, until Friday, August 11, to try and win the Ladies Home event which is held in Little Aston near Birmingham in England.
Vagliano Trophy teammates Lianna Bailey, India Clyburn and Sophie Lamb, fresh from winning the Smyth Salver as the leading qualifier at the Ricoh Women’s British Open on Sunday, feature in the home team aiming to defend the ladies’ title.
For the home team, trying to defend their title, Lianna Bailey, India Clyburn and Sophie Lamb return. Lamb is coming off the back of winning the Smyth Salver as the leading qualifier at the Women’s British Open on Sunday last.
In the other women’s event being held, the Girls Home Internationals, Ireland will be looking to regain their title that they won last year. Returning for Ireland is Lauren Walsh (Castlewarden), Rachel Thompson (Cork) and Valerie Clancy (Killarney) whilst the side will be captained by Gemma Butler who will be relying on her teammates for valuable experience.
Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales will begin play this morning and compete against each other in individual matches. Every match consists three foursomes in the morning and six singles in the afternoon.
