Limerick clubs Garryowen and Young Munster had to relinquish their top spots on the 1A table after suffering losses to Terenure College and Clontarf RFC respectively.
Limerick’s Young Munster suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of Dublin club Clontarf at Tom Clifford Park last weekend.
The lopsided fixture finished 33 – 17 in favour of the visitors and cost the cookies their top spot on the division 1A table.
Limerick’s Garryowen have also fallen from their second place perch on the 1A table after an upsetting loss to the in form Terenure College.
Garryowen fell 13 points short to the home side with a full time score of 25 – 13 at Lakelands Park.
Defending champions Cork Constitution bounced back from their shaky start to the season with a comprehensive 38 – 10 win over UCD.
Bottom of the table Ballynahinch remain winless after suffering a narrow loss to UCC. The Cork students bettered the home side by four points at Ballymacarn Park in a fixture that finished 10 – 6.
Dublin University redeemed their recent loss to Terenure with a narrow win over second place Lansdowne RFC at the Aviva Stadium. Trinity ground out a 25 – 27 win over the home side.
