Clinical Arscoil Ris move into Harty Cup final after Thurles hammering

The City school were dominant in their semi-final win over Thurles.

Ardscoil Rís will contest the 2022 Harty Cup final after they defeated Thurles CBS 4-18 to 1-12 in Nenagh today.

The writing was on the wall for the Tipp side early on as Ardscoil raced into a 3-5 to 0-0 lead at the first waterbreak.

Shane O’Brien (2), Niall O’Farrell and David Kennedy found the goals for the North Circular road side in their fifteen point win.

O’Farrell had their first from the penalty spot after five minutes with Kennedy pushing the lead out to nine after as many minutes.

O’Brien hit goals either side of the water to give Ardscoil a commanding 4-11 to 0-5 lead at the half.

Joe Egan did find the net in the second half for Thurles but the result was never in doubt as Ardscoil move into a sixth ever final on February 5.

They are yet to lose a decider and will hope to continue that trend when they take on first time finalists St Joseph’s Tulla.
