Kleyn’s game ” in a good place at the moment” ahead of Bulls clash

Munster lock Jean Kleyn speaks on the events of their current trip to South Africa and returning to his home country.

The Munster squad will hope that there is not a repeat of the events that happened last time they visited South Africa where lots of the squad contracted COVID preventing them from playing games but also travelling home.

These players are the first of many to travel to South Africa as a club for competitive games following the introduction of their teams into the URC.

Here are Kleyn’s thoughts on this:

“Hopefully this time we actually get to the game, I think we’re all happy to be back I mean I grew up here so I know myself it’s a lovely country and a lovely country to visit so all the boys are excited and excited about the game and excited about the food of course.

“I don’t think there was too much apprehension, we were given full clarity from the URC and the IRFU as to what the protocol surrounding this trip and what would happen if anything were to go wrong.”

Munster have a new aura surrounding there game this season especially. With a lot of key players on international duty the squad has been able to improvise and adapt to suit their play style and winning impressively in a lot of games.

“I’d like to think my game is in a fairly good place at the moment. I think there is a big emphasis from our coaching staff and stuff to keep improving yourself and improving your game and it’s not just your game itself but like small parts of it.

“The big thing is don’t let the altitude go to your head, it’s a big thing that the Bulls play with it all the time and it is written all over the stadium that altitude matters but it’s just in your head, you feel it in the lungs and then you might convince yourself that your getting more tired but reality of the fact is our boys are fit all they need to do is keep their head down and keep working.”
